Ajay Devgn’s much awaited thriller, Drishyam 2 is on a dream run at the box office in India. The Abhishek Pathak directed film has passed the Monday test with flying colours and is headed to become one of the biggest success stories of 2022. According to early estimates, Drishyam 2 has shown a solid hold in collections on Monday with collections falling in the range of Rs. 11.00 to 12.15 crores.
The hold is phenomenal across the board and the drop has primarily come because of the fall in ticket prices from weekend slabs to weekday ones. The national multiplex chains are down by about 20 percent from opening day, whereas the single screens showed a little bigger drop of about 30%.
Drishyam 2 is already a big hit and it hold on the 2nd Friday will determine if it can emerge a huge blockbuster. It is headed for a week one of Rs. 100 crore, thereby recording the second biggest week one total of the year after Brahmastra.
The collections at single screens are mainly coming because of the Ajay Devgn factor, but given that the film is a thriller, lifetime business of Drishyam 2 will heavily depend on the multiplexes. The film has found unanimous appreciation from audience and critics alike and is a major success story for Hindi film industry.
