Toyota Launches Supra GT4 EVO Ahead of 2023 Debut – Sportscar365

Toyota has unveiled the GR Supra GT4 EVO, an updated version of its GT4 challenger, ahead of a competition debut in 2023.

The Japanese manufacturer says that the new car will provide drivers with enhanced braking, handling and engine performance which have been implemented as the result of ‘constructive customer feedback’ and ‘detailed evaluations’.

Key handling upgrades for the new-for-2023 car include an improved brake system design, new ABS settings and dampers and an updated anti-roll bar specification.

Additionally, the 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine sports increased power and an optimized torque curve as well as more effective cooling to enhance performance.

The new car will make its racing debut at the opening round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season at Daytona in January.

Orders are now open, with a ready-to-race car priced at €186,000 ($185,000 USD).

Existing customers will be be able to upgrade their cars to EVO specification with an available upgrade kit.

The original GR Supra GT4 made its racing debut in 2020 and took its 50th class victory in a major championship last summer when Akiland Racing duo Masayoshi Oyama and Masayuji Ueda won the Am class at the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS round at Sportsland Sugo.

Tim Heinemann notably also took six overall victories in a GT4 Supra en route to the DTM Trophy title.
